Bidwill Stage 2

Habitat for Humanity are partnering with the Ansell Stuart family to build a new five bedroom home at Bidwell. This 'Blitz' commenced on Monday 17 November 2008 at 7.00 am. Day 1 saw the frame and roof trusses erected, fascia installed, as well as windows and glass sliding doors. On Day 2, the Hebel wall panels were put into place in the morning and roof tiles were laid in the afternoon. On Day 3, the gables and eaves were installed and the plumbers and electricans did their 'rough-in'. The gyprockers arrived on Day 4 and installed the ceiling. Insulation was also put into place. On Day 5 the gyprock was completed and waterproofing was installed in bathrooms. External paintwork was also underway. The kitchen was installed on Day 6. The external paint work continued on Day 7 and internal paintwork was started. Tiling was done in the kitchen, and fittings installed in the bathrooms and laundry. The carpenters installed architraves and window and door frames. On day 8 the internal tiling and paintwork continued. Day 9 - internal and external paintwork is continuing. Day 10 saw a large part of the work coming to completion. The paintwork was finished along with the bathrooms and tiling. The site shed has been moved off the site and the temporary fencing across the front of the block has been removed. Day 11 - floor coverings were installed and landscaping work was underway. Day 12 - Dedication Day! The landscaping and clean up were finished in the morning and the dedication took place at 2.30 pm that afternoon.

Bidwill Stage 3

Habitat for Humanity are once again conducting a 'Blitz' build to construct two homes simultaneously at Bidwill. The Blitz will commence on Monday 16th November 2009 and conclude with a Dedication Ceremony on Saturday 28th November 2009.
Habitat are partnering with the Webeck family to build a two bedroom home and and with the Hart family to build a three bedroom home.
The slabs have already been poured in preparation for the Blitz.
Week 1 - Work progessed well during the week and was, in fact, ahead of schedule. The frames, trusses, facia and gutter were installed on Day 1. On days 2 to 4 the Hebel panels, windows, and roof were installed. The plumbers and electricians did their rough-in and insulation was installed. On Days 5 and 6, the gyprock was installed and sanded, and sealing paint applied to the Hebel.
Week 2 - Day 1 and 2 saw the external paintwork applied and the carpenters did their internal fixout.

Bidwill Stage 4
|
|
Bidwill Stage 4 will involve the construction of two, 5 bedroom homes in a 'Blitz' syle build.
One of the homes has already been allocated to the Bunch family. The family believed it would be impossible to ever own a home and a thrilled to be able to partner with Habitat for Humanity to provide their three children with a much better future.
